Neptune's Daughters was established in 1995 by a group of women with a love of Mobile's Mardis Gras and its Mystic traditions. We have grown from a charter membership of 21 to 400 members in the past two decades. Our Emblem depicts King Neptune flanked by three of his mermaid daughters. In keeping with a mermaid's love of the sea, our signature colors are teal, white, and green.
Though most people associate Mardi Gras with New Orleans, Mobile, Alabama, began holding the festival in 1703, 15 years before it started in Louisiana. Based on a French Catholic tradition, the celebration is now a city-wide holiday in Mobile, where even schools close in order to celebrate. We Mobilians are a generous people and were glad to teach our New Orleans neighbors how to throw a party.

Neptune's Daughters has been parading in downtown Mobile for over 2 decades. During this time the organization has grown to over 400 members. Our vision is to celebrate the artistic and cultural resources of our community and incorporate them into our Mardi Gras tradition, making the entire community a part of the Neptune's Daughters parade.
Neptune's Daughters could not be any more excited for the 2019 Mardi Gras season. We will be following the traditional downtown Mobile Mardi Gras parate route- Route A.
